Service

A fountain pen service consists of the following:

• Complete strip-down, including nib, feed etc.
• Thoroughly clean all parts
• Repair minor nib damage (slight bends, etc)
• Adjust, polish and re-fit nib
• Replace rubber ink sac or diaphragm where used (irrespective of the condition of the original)
• Replace any rubber seals, O-rings, etc. (e.g. Sheaffer Snorkel, Parker 51)
• Re-assemble and test, adjust ink flow
• Flush out with clean water

Please note that the plastic ink sac used on Parker Aerometrics (e.g. Parker 51, Parker Slimfold etc.) is not included since it generally doesn't need to be replaced.

Very many fountain pen repairs are possible, including replacement of broken parts and repair of cracks, etc.  Of course not everything can readily be found and not every pen will be worth the time/effort/cost of repair.  All the same it usually is worth it and it can be a great pleasure to have a favourite pen or one with sentimental value back in working order.  For further details or for an estimate, contact me by email.
