The Sheaffer Snorkel, like the Parker 51 is one of the few pen models which practically everyone has heard of - a legendary design.  The filling system is complex and unique in that a tiny tube is extended from under the nib, allowing the pen to be filled without dipping the nib into the ink.  As Sheaffer advertised it "the world's first clean-filling pen".  The Saratoga differs from other models in having a plain open nib in 14ct gold.

This example is in excellent condition. There are no marks or scratches on the plastic parts and the gold plated parts are perfect.  Internally the pen is also in great condition and I have freshly serviced it, replacing the ink sac and the rubber seals. There is a barrel imprint reading "Made In Australia WA Sheaffer Pen Co. Aust. Pty. Ltd"

The medium 14ct gold open nib is stamped " SheafferS 14k 5".  It is in perfect condition and as expected, a great writer.
