The Prelude is the mainstay of the Sheaffer mid-price model range, coming in a range of different finishes.  The 373 is still a current design, finished in glossy black laquer, with bright palladium plated fittings.  This pen is in as-new condition. 

The medium stainless steel nib is simply stamped " SHEAFFER", and writes smoothly.  It has no visible signs of wear.

This pen has a cartridge/converter filler, allowing standard Sheaffer "classic" cartridges to be used, alternatively it can be bottle filled using the twist-action converter, included.
