Parker Junior Duofold Streamline in blue lapis Stock No 1413
Parker Junior Duofold Streamline in blue lapis Stock No 1413

The Junior Duofold was first introduced in the U.S.A. in 1923 and closely resembles the other Duofolds of the same era. This example though was made in Canada some time later. The imprint is shallow and partial, reading  "PARKER DUOFOLD    GEO. S. PARKER   MADE IN CA....".  The pen cap has a ball end clip, which preceded the more well known Parker arrow design.  It has two narrow plain cap bands, which are showing some brassing.

The 14 ct gold nib is stamped "PARKER DUOFOLD PEN CANADA  B ". It is on the broad side of medium that writes smoothly. The pen is fitted with a button filling system.  The black blind cap unscrews from the end revealing a small brass button which operates a spring-loaded pressure bar inside the barrel to compress the ink sac. The button can be seen in the photo. This is a very simple and effective filling system much favoured by Parker at the time.  The ink sac has been replaced.
