Condition:

This Parker 51 is in excellent condition throughout.  The plastic parts are free from any scratches or other marks and the lustraloy cap is bright and free from dings or scratches.   This pen is finished in "Midnight Blue" - one of the scarcer colours. 

The earlier Parker 51s, like this one have the "vacumatic" filler, inherited from the earlier Parker Vacumatic models.  A small diaphragm pump on the end of the barrel pumps air out of the barrel and hence ink is drawn in.  This gives a good ink capacity, but it does need about 10 or 12 pumps to fill it completely.

This pen has a 14ct gold Parker nib with a fine tip.  This is a new nib and is a very good smooth writer. 

Parker 51s are generally reckoned to be one of the most dependable pens ever made.  This pen has had a full strip-down service, including a new vacumatic diaphragm and is ready for many years of reliable service.
