This new Sheaffer Prelude fountain pen has a metal barrel, finished in "Silver Shimmer" lacquer - a pearlescent effect. It has a bright palladium plated clip and cap band. The top of the cap is finished with a pearl "jewel".

The prelude is a cartridge/converter filler - it can use standard Sheaffer ink cartridges, or can be bottle filled using the twist-action converter supplied. The nib has an attractive engraved finish in stainless steel, it comes with a choice of fine, medium or broad tip.
