The Sheaffer Prelude is a smart, good quality range, coming in a variety of finishes. This one, the 346 has a matt black lacquer finish with 22ct gold plated trim. The Sheaffer clip bears the "white spot" symbol of quality.

The fountain pen is fitted with a two-tone gold and palladium plated medium nib. It is a cartridge-filling pen and is supplied with a converter to give the choice of cartridge or bottle filling.

The ballpoint is the twist-cap variety and comes with a medium blue refill.
