This super quality Caran d'Ache 849 ballpoint is part of the "Original Collection" and is intended to be tough and dependable. It is a metal pen, finished in a deep silver-flecked lacquer. It has a push-button mechanism.

The pen comes fitted with the "Goliath" refill with a tungsten carbide ball in a stainless steel tip. It is claimed to write without blots for 8 km. I haven't checked this claim!
