The Sheaffer "Crest" was produced from 1989 to 1998 and is modelled on the Sheaffer "Snorkel" models of the 1950s. The name comes from the Snorkel Crest which had a coloured barrel with a gold-plated cap. This pen has a metal cap and barrel, finished in black laque. These are very attractive pens with a pleasantly solid feel and are great writers.
The modern Crest has a cartridge/converter filler, the converter simply pulling out to allow standard Sheaffer ink cartridges to be used if desired..
The medium 18ct gold nib nib is stamped " Sheaffer 18K 750", and writes smoothly. This is a very attractive two-tone nib with a high polish and is made in the form of the "Triumph" nibs of the 1950s.
A modern Sheaffer box is included:
This pen is unused (apart from me testing it) and should give many years of reliable service.
