This is a strikingly attractive pen finished in grey pearl marble, with embedded translucent amber in the barrel. The pen has had little use has no significant marks or scratches. The imprint on the barrel is deep and clear, reading "W.A.SHEAFFER PEN CO.  FORT MADISON, IOWA, U.S.A.  U.S. PAT'S RE.19,167+D-78,795   OTHER  PAT.  PEND.".  The pen is a pistol filler, operated by unscrewing the knurled blind cap, and pulling the plunger. The pen fills as the plunger is pushed back to its normal position. The plastic cap is finished in matching colours and features a broad chrome plated cap band and chrome plated clip, which features Sheaffer's 'white spot'.

The pen is fitted with a fine Sheaffer's Lifetime nib, clearly stamped "A73890  SHEAFFER'S LIFETIME  REG U.S.PAT.OFF. MADE IN U.S.A". There is a short, hard to notice, crack in the nib, but this is well away from the pointy business end, and which in no way affects the nib's performance. The price has been adjusted a but to reflect the slightly-not-perfect condition of the nib.

The pen has been fully serviced and is ready for years more use.
